The prickly pear cactus is easy to grow. If you leave it outside all winter, it will look like is has died, but it will come back in the spring. You can use a frost blanket to keep the effects less severe. These were just potted this summer, so they have not been through a winter yet. You might want to bring them inside for their first winter. I suggest waiting at least until next summer before repotting them if you want yours in another container.
